this piece is a lovesong
with late summer 
with the ocean
and with my favorite colors. 
it is made of places i have walked so many times i can can see each trail right now when i close my eyes and i even know where i hid that one piece of driftwood i thought i might just come back for tomorrow 
and it is also made of places i have never ever been yet deeply hope hard they exist 
but one thing i can say with certainty is that i know how the kitchen smells in at least one of those cottages there on the hill, and where the floor creaks exactly, mingling with the scents of bayberry, salt, roses, and coffee.
so try it: close your eyes, walk with me.
