I PAINTED THIS because im in love with the light the land the community and the creatures of cape cod and the islands.

simple as that.

and i am a birder.

so every walk i take, part of my joy and part of the whole experience is the listening and the looking and the noticing, of all bird songs and bird friends, doing their lovely weird things all around as i explore.

like say yesterday, i was exploring after the rain, and everything smelled SO GOOD!!!

it was salt and sea and vague summer wonder plus a fragrance that i sometimes decide is a bayberry?

or beach rosey? jasmine-y blend? regardless-

ITS UNIQUE TO HERE.

and it knocks me out every time.

and other times i just believe the unique scent + light happening while im out and about, must be some summer bloom - infused sea scent that is surely COMPLETELY UNIQUE to the exact lane im walking on, combined with time of day, plus random luck of whatever fusion of weather elements are happening at that exact moment..

the wind direction, temperature shifts, hell maybe even a blue sailboat turning in the bay, filled with amazing people feeling wonderfully! that must totally contribute to the unnamed scent in the air that manages to be both magical and invigorating and new and nostalgic at the same time...

SO I PAINTED THIS cape cod/ nantucket seascape to show gratitude to the fact that im floored daily by the beauty and the energy of this beautiful area.

and each stroke is absolutely a fully engaged conversation with this place, one that mostly says thank you.

thank you for the little kid levels of belief inside, that magic surrounds us everywhere here.

SO thanks for reading that. and for your interest!
