last evening walking alone after the rain
here in provincetown
my spirit was soaring
it soared with the birds who were so busy
so vocal so well dressed
it soared through the sky and saw my favorite places my favorite houses my favorite neighborhoods
it also dove and rose through fields of past wreckage and past construction, without pause
and i realized that if my soul could stand up and applaud, oh it would
because its sweater weather here on cape cod
where we are many among the blooms still singing,
about to close a glorious season
of bravery, of fascination, of show-stopping performance
we who may recognize
within the chorus of the wondrous
scents sights sounds,
that we belong together
next to the sea
soaring.
(always, thank you for being here 🩵)
