EVERY TIME i look at this painting

i love that i can actually hear and smell the scent of the summer breeze swirling around me.

i think this is bc ive become so familiar with loving cape cod, loving the islands, and this provincetown breeze especially- and so fond of the senses it evokes, that its almost like the moving air itself has become part of me, even something i see as my family.

so it feels natural that i love honoring the medley of hues and textures and scents that have become part of my everyday serotonin boosts - and ive even found that such boosts nearly exist supernaturally within my muscle memory, when needed- like say, in the darkest of winters, or when visiting another place, through the use of color and motion.

and such medleys are a gift- to be cherished, celebrated! painted! which is exactly what i did.

and accordingly, the landscape in this lazy summer day piece evolved over some important time, into a fantasy fusion of some of my favorite things, from a bouquet of cherished sensory experiences from mostly provincetown- but containing guest star poetic flashes - from both nantucket, and chatham, as purely as i can adoringly recall, regardless if any of it would hold up in court.

the feeling and the color is my true geography.

thank you so much for looking

and for reading, my friends.
