i love a loon
and sometimes when i hear "common loon" 
(as this kind is so named) 
i have to laugh
bc oooh my my my
loons are hardly common
look them up for fun
what total superstars
but anyways
this painting and the exercise of actively working on it (its absolutely active when the work is tall, ha)
provided me with endless inspiration 
and i found it truly calming losing myself in the deep blues into turquoises blooming into rich greens 
of this family's imagined crossing
and i love how haunting 
yet magical loons calls are
for many layered reasons 
but mostly i consider the 
where are youuuuus 
and the im over hereeees
to be as lovely and as simple 
and as ancient of a cry 
that could possibly exist
