this is a delicious pink sky dreamy seascape that i painted unapologetically in absolute blissful reverence to provincetown, nantucket, and cape cod.
bc i mean i seriously dont know how many times i can think feel or say OMG BUT THIS LIGHT *swoon* around here. AND TRULY DEEPLY MEAN IT EACH TIME. each season. and this would be crazy and surreal if it wasnt totally true.
yet every season here, absolutely brings a holy magical light show, one that is a constantly shifting tangle of a fantasy outdoing itself. one composed of miracle and gratitude and wonder.
and that is the best i can describe it?!
so it makes sense to me that my exercise in loving my local landscape ALSO turned into a love letter to mary oliver. a painting to thank her, to say ohhh how i get it, and to say to the sky, to the world: oh thank you thank you thank you. im here with you.
or to just say wow??
but obviously mary oliver said it best, many times, especially in her poem wild geese.
so go find it and read it for the first time, or re read it, or hell, do an improvisational yard dance about it while wearing tall boots with zero pants at midnight.
i think it is your call. and i trust you.
