ive said it before and ill say it again

the winter birding in provincetown

and on the cape and islands is spectacular.

and the wintering waterfowl in particular,

are gorgeous resilient creative often hilarious,

and wildly skilled in too many ways to count.

and bc of this

its always a thrill for me to stroll around provincetown, and particularly the harbor and around macmillan pier during the winter months.

and it almost feels like birding cheating.

bc all you have to do is go there, and look at the water and boom you are a birder birding,

sometimes even seeing rare guests.

and i think about this when im coming back home after a minute away,

like by the time i see the yellow house on conwell

im basically minutes away from seeing some of my very favorite creatures, who inevitably will be brilliantly attired and effortlessly soaring overhead or floating along with their beloveds, alternately gossiping singing or planning dinner.

some days i swear i hear them call out

welcome home

acrylic oil bliss

blonde wood gallery frame

and as always, thank you for being here

(photos included range from cozy indoor light, to brightest direct light, to overhead fluorescent light in my studio. ANY questions or further curiosities, and id be delighted to send a video!)

they're drumming in the wind, only lovers alive SOLD
